Random Act of Kindness (RAK)

A random act of kindness can bring a smile to someone's face and make a total stranger want to meet you or say thank you.  This simple act can do so many things to make a better day for someone...I know because when I got my first RAK I smiled like a kid with a new toy, and then I wondered who and why, and then I smiled just a bit more.

Today I am performing a RAK for one my co-workers that works out of our office located in Orlando Florida.  Although we have spoke over the phone several times and been on projects together we have never met or exchanged any words of personal meaning, so it didn't surprise me that she had gotten married and I was not in the know (very few were).

Well I decided to surprise her with a card and a framed layout of her and her groom.  I managed to get a photo of the bride and groom together from another co-worker, for the layout and I found the frame on sale at Hobby Lobby.  It is going to be hand-delivered to her on Monday, and I can't wait to hear about her reaction.  Anyway you tell me if you think she will enjoy the gifts.

I created the card using Recollections standard CS an DP. I used Martha Stewart to punch out my border and then Spellbinders to create the focal point.

I found some gold letters in my stash along with some peel and stick stencils that seemed to work well with what I was trying to create.  I think the wedding colors were gold and white...going by the picture, but there may have been a touch of peach somewhere in there as well.

A simple congratulations for the sentiment and I think the card was done.  I made a couple of mistakes but didn't have time to correct completely so I did my best to hide the mistakes.  Hope she doesn't see them.

On the inside I used the same patterned paper as on the front and then typed up the words I wanted to say to her.

Not knowing her that well I tried to say those things we wish for any couple getting married and committing themselves to live as one.  And then I signed my name.

I am entering this card in Lady Anne's -  Anything Goes Challenge and Anything Goes Challenge Blog - "Anything Goes Challenge".

The next thing I did was find someone to give me a copy of her wedding photos or at least two: one with her and the groom and then one of the wedding party.  I decided though that I didn't want to do a two page layout but one layout and then frame it for her to hang in her office.

I used Webster's trim, Pink Paislee DP, Martha Stewart punches, Recollections Pearls, Prima floral spread, Tim Holtz lamp post die, and stickers to create the page.  Although it was a last minute decision I'm okay with it.

I am entering this layout in "A Gem Of A Challenge" - #59 Ribbon and Lace

Below is a close-up of the bride and groom and one of the glass floral arrangement.   What are your thoughts?  BTW if you enter my "Scrap A Page" challenge your chances of winning are really high since no one has entered.  It appears there aren't any scrappers left in our crafting world or I don't have any scrappers that are part of my blogging challenge family.

As always "find beauty in all things and then go create your own."
Don't forget your comments are always welcomed and appreciated even more!

I saw your cards on SOC and commented there, but I had to pop over and comment here also. Your friend will be delighted, I'm sure. Your RAK is wonderful and so thoughtful.
