Hello All. Today it was rather cool and every now and then it would mist a little rain, the perfect weather for crafting and a bit of chili. Well I decided to try my hand at making chili..and yep this would be my first time with chilli. I found a recipe online for a crock pot (my favorite kitchen appliance) and off I went to get the ingredients.
While I was out I decided to just grocery shop and do a little bit more running around. It was such a beautiful day, at least to me it was. Anyway I got the chili in the crock pot and cooking (has to cook for 4 hours). The only thing left to do was to ...you know...play in my craftroom/studio.
Jackson's Digital Expression will be hosting a sketch challenge and here is my take on the sketch.
Here is the sketch we are using for the challenge. The sketch was designed by Rebecca Fleck and if you haven't seen her book of sketches you are missing a lot of cool ideas for not only scrapbook layouts but cards as well.
Here is my interpretation of the sketch.
CS: Recollections
DP: My Mind's Eye
Image: Bugaboo Stamps
EK Success Pumpkin Border Punch
K&C: Fall Clear Stickers
Sentiment: Clear Stamps
The inside I simply used leftover paper from the front of the card. My image was colored using Copic Markers.
I want to enter this card in the following challenge:
Card Makin Mamas - Thanksgiving/Thanks
Challenges 4 Everybody - #7 Anything Goes
Perfect Sentiments - #55 CAS/Fall Thanksgiving
This next card is one I worked on to give to my neighbor. Every time he cuts his yard if he notices that mine hasn't been cut he will just keep cutting right across to my yard. Yeah, I end up with a well groomed front yard and a small jungle in the back. That only happens when I forget to call for service but I think I need to say thanks. He likes birds and has two or three as his pet so this card should go over very well.
I used left over CS and DP to create this card. You can tell that I really like the distress inks because I used a lot on this card. The goal was to keep it from looking to feminine since it is going to a guy.
I didn't decorate the inside much. I just added a space for a message and punched a border to run across the top of both panels.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments - Challenge #67 Thanks
One Stitch At A Time - Challenge #139 With Thanks
Well tomorrow is a work day, and the chili should be just about ready so I think now would be a good time to go start the cornbread and maybe I'll cook up a pot of rice to go along with it. Vegetables..ummm...well brocoli and carrots it is, mainly because there isn't to many vegetables in my freezer that I can steam up in less than 60 minutes.
As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you visit often.
