Around the Corner

Hi, can you believe that in exactly 3 weeks and 3 days it will be Christmas! A couple of months ago I decided that instead of buying gifts I would make some of them. Yep I thought this Christmas the men in the family would get a handmade gift (mini album) and I've shared a couple of these mini albums with you. Presents would be gift cards for the teens and the usual gifts for the little ones (playing Santa). Well, with only 3 weeks and 3 days left to go I had to enlist assistance from my scrapping BFF and she has done a wonderful job for me...free you ask, of course not but the donation is so worth what I get in return.

With these mini albums on my mind I was running behind on other things and then life threw a hard blow my way and I forgot all about deadlines and crafting was far from my mind, so I apologize for the lateness in my post and the delay in posting my new challenge. Death comes when it chooses and it doesn't matter what plans you had, you have to drop everything and take care of those that are handling reality a lot worse than yourself, and that is what I had to do. Our oldest Auntie went home after battling cancer for years. It has been a little over a week now so hopefully I can catch up with things and find my own peace in the comfort of my craft-room.

To get started I want to share with you a sneak peek of what my girls have been working on for me for my upcoming (it is coming I promise) challenge. This card is a "Paper Bag Card" and it is just wonderful. Check this out and then don't forget to create your Winter or Christmas or Holiday Card and share it with us by clicking on the Challenge Tab above.

Using a plain paper bag folded in half Ariana, was able to create a card that has space inside for a gift card and a message. Then the space where the tabbed insert is located, is actually large enough to hold a small gift such as a pair of earrings or a special pen. The possibilities are endless with this simple yet very practical use of a plain paper bag.

Our inspiration came from Lori who shared the following video (Lyric Paper Bag Card). In the video Lori says that her inspiration came from a well known crafter, Claudia Rosa. Check out both ladies if you can.

That's all for now...I thank you for stopping by and visiting us.  Remember to come back and enter our challenge for a chance to win 7 images of choice from our sponsor and a chance at a grab bag offered by Mema's Crafts.

I've decided to enter this card in the following challenges:

Challenges 4 Everybody- Anything Goes (12/4)
613 Avenue Create - Challenge #48 Anything Goes (12/6)
365 Cards - Challenge #334 Gifted (01/5)

So sorry for your recent loss!
Your card is lovely! I enjoy making bag cards because you can create so many fun little hiding places. Nice papers and great coloring on the image. Nicely wrapped, bowed and presented! Thanks for slipping this under our door here at 613 Avenue Create!
