Well my RAK finally reached it's destination and from what I heard she loved it! That made an otherwise long day a good day overall. My other co-workers told me I could not have chosen a more deserving person, and I was rather pleased with myself. So if you get a chance to contribute to a RAK, go for it and bring a smile to someone's heart.
Nothing unusual to share with you and for me that alone is a miracle. My life is always full of something strange but thats what makes life living...think on that for a minute. Anyway I will not disappoint you, I do have another card to share with you, but before I do I would like to remind you once again that there is still time to create a scrapbook page and join my challenge...currently there is only one entry so the odds of winning are great! A gift card to "Make it Crafty" is up for grabs.
Oh well, moving right along. My card is indeed a pieced together "scrap card" and I'll tell you why as I go along.
Anyway I ran across a challenge (actually two of them) that said piece it together, or use scraps, and put something broken back together. Well I thought the paper had broken from its parent 12x12 sheet and was now an odd piece so I could use that.
I got the idea to use little squares from a mosaic scrapbook layout I had created so I began to punch any black scrap of paper I could find starting with the smallest of pieces. I ended up with way more than I needed and then I thought to do the same with my leftover white, red and green. All scraps from making Christmas cards all week.
Here is a side view so you can get a glimpse of the inside. I used the negative side of one of the black scraps I had punched to decorate the inside.
This worked because the background was white and I was able to layer a piece of black on the card base. Then lastly I added a white oval shaped piece of paper for a personal message. This allowed me to carry the theme from the front of the card onto the inside. Doing this seemed to work well with this card.
I do tend to give a big yipee to myself when things go well on the first attempt. Doesn't happen often so I savor every moment when it does (heh he).

I liked how this card turned out and I'm almost finished creating a red and black one with the other scraps I have. This card is a 5x7 turned horizontal but the next one I hope to make it so it can stand vertically.
I want to enter this card in the following challenges:
Try It On Tuesday - Memories
Tammy's Scrapin Corner - #36 Anything Goes
Stampin Sisters in Christ - #165 Put it Back Together
Shelley's Images - Oh Scrap
Perfect Sentiment - #56 Piece it Together
Well thats all for today...now I am going to go and tackle a tri-shutter card. My first go at it failed and my second try turned out pretty good but now for the real deal. Keeping my fingers crossed...if it goes well I will share but if not then....well you'll figure it out.
