Hey Guys, has anyone ever searched on Youtube and discovered that for one technique there are over 300 different ways to get to the same place and the key is choosing which one works for you.  Well I am a youtube junkie, a lifelong learner and I think its great that folks are willing to share their talent but there are those that seem to think that showing what they have created is a tutorial....that bugs me to death.

I would suggest that if you use the word tutorial in your video-clip title then one would expect to receive instructions (verbal or written) and not just you pointing or chatting about your creation and what you did (in no particular order).  I dare to say that although your project may be absolutely lovely and ideas can be drawn from it, that does not constitute it as a tutorial!

I wanted to find a tutorial on how to create a basic center step card, so that's what I searched on "Center Step Card Tutorial" and several videos showed up.  Being logical I only clicked on titles that had the word tutorial...well I must have clicked on at least 8 of them suckers to discover they were not tutorials ... OMG...why call it a tutorial!  I was getting very frustrated when finally a lady with a British accent began to speak instructions while showing them on the screen.

Thanks be to the heavens...and then at the end of the tutorial, she added a link for printing the the instructions.  I could now try my first "Center Step Card" and here it is with decorations and everything.

Not real sure how this was going to turn out I decided to use an old paper pack I had from K&C combined with Recollections CS Gray as my base color. I added a few pearls and a little lacy ribbon to finish it off.  My lady in the hat was perfect for a vintage shabby chic reflection.

I want to enter this card in the challenge:

Dream Valley - Challenge #45 Anything Goes (22 Nov)

Another technique I had been thinking about was the "Flip Card."  It took me about 30 minutes to find a tutorial that had all the information I need such as what size to cut the paper and so forth but it worth the search because I found a "tutorial" that gave clear very step-by-step instructions.  The lady spoke a little slower than I would have liked but I think she did it perfect.  At least my card turned out rather nicely..although there are some changes I would make to it the next time I try this technique which might just be tomorrow.  Here's the card.

Here is my creation and believe it or not it actually flips correctly..an interactive card that is just too cool!  Additionally with this fancy fold I learned a new technique using my impressabilities.  If you look close you can see the circles imprinted on the inside, well I created that with an impressability!  A really cool technique.

Next is the card completely open and can you see how the front flips and becomes the left panel of the open card.  OMG...this is just to much excitement for me to handle.

You can also see the circles on the right side that I learned how to create.  This lady gave you three tutorials in one video and that was totally awesome.  She also showed you how to make your own flowers using a die from "Dynamics"

I used my Spellbinder's dies to create the beaded circle and the border.  I added the pearls, ferns (MS) and the flowers to finish this "Flip Card"....yeah me!
I would like to enter this card:

Lesia these are beautiful cards - they are both so beautiful - love the simplicity of the monotone in the gray card, which really takes the eye to the image, and the drama of the strong colours in the burgundy and white.
Blessings

I share your frustration, I can't tell you how many 'tutorials' I have looked up only to find they aren't actually tutorials.
This is just wonderful. Thank you for sharing with us at The Squirrel and The Fox, I hope to see you there again soon.
