The cards I am going to share with you, are cards I made with a few special friends in mind. These are the friends that I have called on in the early am or middle of the night without fear of reprimand. Friends that I know have a true heart and greater understanding of what it takes to be a friend (thoughtfulness, caring, willing to make those scrafices, knows when to express sympathy and empathy) through all the ups and downs of a relationship. I can't be thankful enough for this kind of friend which are few and very seldom encountered. So this time its all about the "Friendships."
Both of these cards were created using the same DCWV paper stack. I only had the 12 x 12 so I strategically cut the paper to the appropriate size for my card.
Both cards are 5 x 7 and were based on a sketch from Becky Fleck's "Scrapbook Page Maps" that I purchased a while back when Borders went out of business where I live.
The flourishes are cut from Marianne "Fanciful Flourish" die and ribbon and buttons are all from Recollections.
I inked the edges with both Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo distress inks.
I used the same paper to finish off the cards on the inside. And the last thing was to ensure a space was available for a personal message.
The DP is felt and very soft to the touch which made the card very personal. I like the way they both turned out, although I like the inside of the first one best and the front of the second one best. Figure that one out if you can. (smiles)
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Challenge# 8 Anything Goes ( Dec 7th)
The Corrosive Challenge - #163 Anything Goes (Dec 6th)
Joanna Sheen Challenge - Anything Goes Excluding Christmas (Dec 6th)
Craft Punked - Week 47 Best Friends
Emergency Crafters - Anything Goes
Stamp 'n' Doodle - Anything Goes
Sassy Studio - Dare to be Sassy "Felt or Fabric"
The second card follows the same basic layout with a few minor changes in the layer size and placement. I also added some ribbon which later decided I didn't care for but couldn't remove without destroying the card so the bow remains.
The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at the Scrapbook convention and I have no clue what company it is from.
I finished the inside using the same DP and since the paper was a light tan I didn't think I needed to add anything for a personal message.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Pile It On - #48 Anything But A Christmas Card (Dec 1st)
That Craft Place - No Squares Allowed
Totally Gorjuss - #159 Don't Be Square
Pause Dream Enjoy - Challenge #47 Anything Goes
One Crazy Stamper - November Challenge Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Challenge #4 Anything Goes
I will end this post with a sneak peek at next month's challenge. Since it is the end of the year I thought it would be nice to have a Christmas Giveaway Challenge as well as the challenge everyone likes. So there is your sneak peek at whats coming up, or sneak hint.
Well that's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you back here again real soon. Your comments are always welcomed.
