Celebrate Being You

I am back with a simple card to share with you.  I was cleaning out my paper bins and found all these paper packs by My Mind's Eye and decided to use a few of them.  I didn't have a sketch or idea so I just started to match up designer paper with cardstock and then began to layer the papers.  In doing this I slowly came to a vision of what a quick card could look like and how it could be used.

We celebrate so many things but we hardly ever think to celebrate ourselves; for our accomplishments, our life, things we've done and so forth...you get my drift.  I've made a few cards using this greeting because I think telling someone to celebrate themselves is a good way of letting them know that you think they are pretty special so here is another card that I think would serve that purpose.

I'm calling it "Celebrate You"

Finding this paper was refreshing with its bright and springy colors. The not so orange and not so red of the paper made the paper a bit more interesting.

The paper pack is My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine" collection. I layered the first two panels and distressed the last panel before inking all panels with Walnut Stain distress ink from Tim Holtz.

The die cut is one I got from Cherry Lynn Designs but I don't remember the name of it and I no longer have the packaging.

All my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and let me see if I can properly name them (not likely) but I was told to practice.  I think they are Wild Open Roses, Apple Blossoms, Tea Roses and maybe a couple of Cottage Roses...I'm probably wrong but hey don't judge me...I am still a believer of life-long learning.  To complete my arrangement I added a few leaves and threw in a couple of lace daisies topped with a button for absolutely no reason (smiles).
The bits of gesso was added as an afterthought but I think it actually works with the theme.

Lastly I am showing a peek of the inside of my card where I kept it very simple by using two panels on each side.  On one side I stamped a sentiment and left the other side blank for a personal message.  So all that's left to do is make the envelope to go with it and prepare myself for a good night sleep.

So until next time remember in life to:
Play the moments, pause the memories,
stop the pain, rewind the happiness

Nice eye for combining those designer papers. The white die cut nicely accentuates the polka dots and the white flowers ties it all together. Quite lovely!
