Election Day

Today is election day and I decided that today I would not turn on the television unless it was to watch an uninterrupted movie on HBO or Showtime. I am so tired of all the political advertisements I thought this would be a good time to give up television. I am truly ready for it to be over regardless to whom my President might be. It all comes with the joy of democracy in America!

Anyway by making this decision I found myself with extra time and a lot of quiet time. I did not know that my tele' was such a distractor.  Well I used this extra time to play with paper and somewhat organize my studio. During this organization I have proven to myself that I need more space because I seem to constantly collect things, although I have not been turned in to that TV show called "Hoarders Buried Alive" (smiles).

Here is a card I created after following a tutorial I thought was rather interesting.

I saw this technique on Youtube University and decided to try it out. It turned out better than I thought it would but of course there were lessons learned.

The poinsetta was stamped and embossed in gold.

Then using a Versamark Pen I filled in the leaves before I embossed them using green embossing powder.

Lesson Learned: Color small parts at a time so the pen doesn't dry to fast.

You repeat this process with the floral pieces and you end up with a beautifully embossed poinsetta.

Lastly you can use a pen to highlight or outline the image if you accidently emboss over the lines.

Lesson Learned: Stamp and emboss the outline in black to make it easier to see.

As usual I have started to use my scraps to spruce up the inside of my cards. I am finding that the recepients are enjoying seeing the insides as much as the outside. BTW: The DP was My Mind's Eye.
