Not everyone celebrates Halloween, and some of us that do celebrate aren't aware of why we celebrate or what it is we're celebrating..ummm...do I know??? not even. I just like seeing all the costumes and giving candy to the little ghosts and goblins that come around knocking with their "trick or treat" message.  Believe it or not I can still remember the days when I got all dressed up or maybe that would be called "dressed down" so I could go and see how much candy I could get and then get home and compare my treasures with my brothers and sister.

Then I remember taking my boys and their friends in our truck and watching them go door to door yelling "trick or treat".  Things have certainly changed between my time and today.  I no longer hear of bobbing for apples, or the greasy pig race or hayriding through town.  What happened to the square dancing and the banjo's and things.  Now you have to pay to be scared, and you have to check the candy your kids get and there's a curfew to when and how long you can "trick or treat".  I tell you its is a world of difference these days...not that I'm that old or anything but I am old enough to know the difference in then and now.

Well today I created my first Halloween card of the year.  I was supposed to have created one for my challenge but life got in the way and it had to be placed aside until now.  I used a "Mo Manning" image which is so adorable and I think you will like the card.  So without to many more words here is the card, "Bat Kat".

DP: Authentique "Glowing"
CS: Recollections
Sentiment: Computered Generated
Spellbinders: Circle Die, Pecot Circle
EK Success: Pumpkin Border Punch

Copics:
Pumpkin: YR09, YR04, YR23
Cat: C2, C0, R20
Mask: V19, V17, V15

The leftover scraps (which were half sheets) from the paper pad I decorated the inside.

On the right side I used the pumpkin punch border for the bottom of the card and a strip of leftover scraps. Then added a white mat for a personal message.

On the left I just covered the panel with leftover scraps from the paper used on the front.

It is just my nature to use everything to the best of my ability and this time it worked out perfect I think.

We have chosen not to celebrate Halloween because of it's roots - it's simple to research the origins on Google.
Love your card - the image is cute.

This is a fabulous card, love the image and layout.
We don't celebrate Halloween here in the UK except for the few kids who try their luck at trick or treating but it is not that appreciated especially by the older generation. During my days as a teacher I used to get my whole class calling at my house because they knew I would hand out the candies quite willingly lol, I don't think it hurts one day a year.
