Hello my fellow crafters and friends. This post is going to be rather quick because I am trying to enter my card in a challenge and I think I am finishing just under the wire. This card took me two days and five start overs with three mistakes along the way. I was trying a new technique which one should never do if you're planning to enter a challenge. Well after everything was said and done it turned out okay and I think it qualifies for the challenge on Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps. Perhaps I can find a few other challenges to enter it in. After all that work I surely hope so but if not I'll survive that as well (LOL) (smiles).
The challenge is to use red and white as your main colors in your project so here is mine.
My DP is MME but I can't remember which collection now that I've cleaned up everything.
I used Spellbinders Decorative Oval and the standard oval to create my center focal point.
The ribbon is from Stampin Up and no I haven't yet learned how to tie a proper bow using double-sided ribbon...but its not that bad (to me anyway).
My border is one of Martha Stewart's punch around the page collection which I inked with Tim Holtz distress Ink. The sentiment is computer generated.
As always I try to use all my scraps for something. It's easier with page layouts but so far I've been successful using scraps to piece together the inside for the card.
I used the smaller Decorative Oval to create space for a personal message and finished the inside with the same MME paper.
I am entering this card in the following:
