Don't Forget: Sign In To Be Counted For The Top Follower Prize  (to be awarded soon)

YIPPEeeeeeee!  I've reached my goal of 300 followers and to celebrate I am going to give away some blog candy...yeahhhhh.

I created my first blog post in May of 2011, which means I've been blogging just over a year. My first challenge was posted in October 2011.  I entered blogging out of curiosity...blogging...what was the hype all about and I discovered that the hype was about the people you meet, the stories they tell of themselves and the sharing of their talent.

At the beginning of the year I set a challenge to recruit 500 followers by October to celebrate my challenge anniversary and if I did not reach 500 I would close shop at the end of 2012.  Little did I know, that this would be so rewarding for me, so using my very own perrogative, I decided that 500 was to aggressive and dropped it to 300, praying that my challenges would be enticing and here I am at my goal.   Without you, my lovely followers I would not have reached my goal and to all of you I send the biggest Texan style thanks.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH

To win this blog candy do the following three things:
1.  Be a follower (sorry but I want to be fair to my faithful followers)
2.  Enter your name using Mr Linky (at the end of this post)
3.  Leave a comment

You can comment on my post, my cards, tutorials, the blog candy or anything you desire.  You can even leave a quote if you desire (but beware I may use it).  Thats all you have to do.

So now on to the more important things.  What is up for grabs you ask? ...well ....
********************************************************
!!!Yes I've decided to award 2 grab bags!!!!!

1.  The Pink Paislee "Prairie Hill" Collection.  This collection is about having fun in the sun and the outdoors. It comes with a 24 single-sided 6x6 paper pad, accolade stickers, 1 pack of 3-D chipboard pieces, a set of tags and a set of clear stamps.  I think the winner of this grab bag will smile.

2Basic Grey "Wander" Collection.  This is a lighthearted collection full of colors like adventurous reds, sunny yellows, road sign greens, and jet white with cityscapes, car convoys and a myriad of maps.   It includes a 36 sheet single-sided 6x6 paper pad, 24 glazed brads, pop layered stickers, canvas tags, fabric flowers, chipboard alpha stickers and shapes, and 6 decorative clips.  This collection will offer a journey to the winner without the cost of travel.

*********************************************************************
Now that I've got that covered let me continue with another water-colored card using the distress markers.
On my other post the technique I used was adding the water from a Zig water brush where you had some control of the flow of water but it was continous and the brush would at times become to wet. I also had to use the heat gun several times on the first technique.

On this card I put a few drops of water on my craft sheet and dipped a regular 02 size brush in the droplet which meant the brush was never soaked.

Additionally, I used cold pressed 140 pound water-color paper for this card. The textured paper seemed to absorb the water a lot more slowly than the smooth 90 lb paper giving me time to add more color where need and I could spread it more getting lighter shades.

At the moment I'm not sure which way I like best but let me warn you that using a paper weight heavier than 120 makes it really hard to cut with scissors as I discovered when cutting how this bird.

This is all I have for this post and I hope it grabbed your interest.  So in closing remember we will have two events going on for the month of September.  My standard monthly challenge which is being sponsored by Mo Manning Digital Pencil which I will be posting this weekend and my Blog Candy where I am giving away two grab bags to one of my followers.  So next month we could have 2-5 winners.  If I reach 100 entries in any challenge I will always add another prize.

Don't forget to add your name to Mr Linky and leave a comment below.

Mema, congratulations for reaching 300 followers. How in the world did you do that!!!! I started my blog in Nov. 2011 (I only posted one time that year) because I was curious and wanted to share my project with people. I need to talk to you about how you were able to get people to follow you. Love your cards and your words of wisdom. Keep up this great blog!
