Impromptu Giveaway

I'm finally back once again with a card to share with everyone and to let you know that I have a e-gift certificate from Stamping Bella's Digital Collection for some lucky follower. Just remember to leave a comment and add your name to Mr. Linky.  We need at least 15 entrants to award the gift certificate so tell your friends.

Before I share my card I would like to say thanks to everyone that wished me well during the time I was having medical issues with my lungs. It is so rewarding to know that people from around the world took time to wish me well.

Additionally, I want to say thanks to Double-D for selecting one of my cards as the winner in their Pretty in Pink challenge. I received my die and can't wait to play with it.

Now moving on to the card. This card was originally designed by Tracy MacDonald of I Wanna Build A Memory and since it was so adorable I thought I would case the design. I love her style and if you visit her blog you will see why. Let me share her creation.

If you've never seen her work you're in for a treat. Just click the link above to hop over to her blog. If you'd like to see the post for this card click here.

Now to share my re-creation of this card with everyone. I really liked how it turned out although I did make a few changes to meet my needs and I had to use what was in my stash. I created the illusion of a multi-colored border by using two different  pieces of paper.

Here is the recipe for this card:

Size: 5 x 7

Image: Stampin Bella "Quinn With Boots

Paper: My Mind's Eye

Copics Used:

Skin: E00, 01, 11

Hair: E21, 23, 25

Coat: E71, E74, E79

Boots: E71, E74, E79

I am hoping to enter my card in the following challenges:

Lacy Sunshine - Wild Challenge Anything Goes (3/18)

You're Purr-fect

I cannot believe that I haven't posted since February 11th!  I really must do better but I do have a pretty good reason. As you know I retired at the end of 2015 and got a part-time job to support my habit (crafting) and keep things balanced.
Well things have changed a bit. I was offered another position with a higher pay rate so I've been busy learning new things while dealing with a flare-up with my COPD.

With every season change I have to deal with allergies and the meds that come with it, not to mention the need to conserve my oxygen and my energy as much as possible. Thank goodness I am on-call instead of an 8 to 5 schedule.

But finally I was able to get online and see what my crafting friends were up to and although it took a bit longer than usual I was able to create a little card using a Kenny K image.

I used a Kenny K image but have forgotten her name. The paper is MME and the flowers and lace are from WOC.

She was air brushed with copic markers and her skirt and crown were highlighted using a Spica Glitter Pen and dusted with super fine glitter from Martha Stewart.  Can't see it in the photo but it has a lovely sparkle in the light.

I used the same paper on the inside and added a small 3.5 x 4 space for a personal message.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafting With Friends - #15 Anything Goes
Chocolate Coffee Cards - #103 Anything Goes
Art By Mira - #52 Anything Goes
Dragon's Lair - February Bingo (Flowers, Lace, Glitter)
Simply Papercraft - #24 Anything Goes
Wags and Whiskers - Furry Friends
Stampin Boutique - Lace or Ribbon

I enjoyed making this card although I wasn't feeling my best.  I hope you enjoyed it and I'll see you next time.

As always thanks for stopping by.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all having a great week and looking forward to the weekend.

Since Sunday is Valentine's Day and is celebrated here in the U.S. I thought I would share with you today a few Valentine cards that I've created.

Hope you enjoy seeing them.

My first card is definitely designed with the female gender in mind.
Created with lots of pinks and flowers

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Creative Moments - Anything Goes with a twist of Romance (2/11)
Double D - Pretty Pink Hearts (2/13)
Crafting For All Seasons - Love is in the Air (2/13)

Card number two consist of the more traditional colors often used for Valentines.

I think this particular one would work great to give to that gentleman friend.

Yep I think the men would appreciate being the recipient sometimes on this day.

I would like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafting By Designs - Hearts (2/13)
DoubleClick - Use A Heart (2/12)
Whimsy Challenge - With Love (2/13)

Lastly, I'd like to share a card that was inspired by one I found on pinterest where the author used inches to create the squares.

I had to compensate and then decided to pop my squares adding depth.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Hearts (2/13)
The Paper Shelter - Be My Valentine
Ruby's Rainbow - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and if you like Prima Dolls then check back often for a giveaway coming soon.

Love Fills The Air

Mema's Online Store - Click Here

Hello everyone, Mema here with a couple of cards to share with everyone.  February is here, and soon Cupid will be out with his arrow filling the air with love and romance. February is when love and romance fills the air all around us.  The men tend to be a bit more romantic and the ladies flirt and play coy just a little more.

I was really excited to get started on my Valentine's cards and I love creating with the pinks, reds, cremes and other colors that speak to the feminine and delicate side of a lady.  We all have our little ladylike side whether we chose to show it or not (smile). I do however on occasion use non-traditional colors when creating my cards, especially if it has to be a masculine one.

Here are a couple of cards I created and I hope you like them.

I'll start with a card I found on Pinterest. I loved all the elements and multiple layers.

The distressed edges also caught my attention.  I think the paper is Pion Design or MME.

I am not sure but I think my inspiration was from Cathymc Sew Creative but this is a guess. Her cards are fabulous!

As you can see I used several dies from Spellbinders, Marianne Designs, Fiskar (punch) and Cherry Lynn.

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid which is the norm for me although I do use Prima and Petaloo flowers from time to time.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Just Us Girls - Word Valentine (2/11)
MTTC #314 - Love is All Around (2/12)

My second card was inspired by one that I saw on the Pion Design blog.

The card that motivated my creativity was a friendship card, but with a few tweaks here and there it became a card perfect for Valentine's Day.

The author of the card was not listed therefore I cannot give credit or say thanks to the crafter that inspired me.

Because the paper was so pretty it was easy to add a sentiment on the inside and leave the paper blank on the right side for a personal message.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Dragonfly Journey - Queen of Hearts (2/12)
Artistic Inspiration - AG Valentine (2/12)

There's lots of challenges out there so I have to go see what other cards I can make so I can join in before they close.

Have a blessed day wherever you are.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Getting Started

Hello Everyone!  Bet you thought I had forgotten about the "Comment Winner" but guess what I didn't forget.

I've noticed a drop in my followers and that saddens me but for those of you that have stayed, I appreciate you.

Okay so Valentine's Day will be here in a couple of weeks and Mother's Day isn't to far behind so I'm thinking we should be getting started on our cards.  Today I have a card to share and hope you like it.

This is a simple multi-layered card made using an old Graphic 45 collection called "The Romantique" (I think).

The paper is gorgeous with greens, browns and a peach or salmon color.  I absolutely loved this collection.

The flowers are Wild Orchid (as usual) and the punches are Spellbinders and Martha Stewart.

I used the remainder of the paper on the inside to decorate and allow space for a personal message.

I didn't see a need to add any additional treatments or embellishments because I felt the beauty of the paper was enough.  This was a quick view of a quick and simple card that could be used for Mother's Day or any special event (hint: the greeting says it all).

Now before I call it a night I must say congratulations to the winning comment from my post titled "One Stamp - Multiple Card"  and the winner of a eCertificate for two digital images of their choice is:

Entry #3 who wrote the following:

Your cards are lovely. The cross is beautiful
and your designs nicely highlight it.

Congratulations to Sheila of

Part Time Workforce

Mema's Store - Click Here

Hello all and yep it's true...Mema has joined the workforce once again but with a few changes along the way.

I'm still retired but I just can't sit home when I feel that I can still contribute to society and perhaps influence our future generation.  After all they will be our leaders someday and if we survive to see that become a reality I am hoping that I NOT "live to regret it" (ha ha) sort of speak.

I've decided to work part-time and offer up my time to our Community Colleges in their effort to teach and educate our children.  Not as many hours and certainly not the same level of stress as found in corporate america.  This is purposeful work where I can add value and go home smiling and looking forward to the next day, not to mention I still have time to feed my paper passion.

Speaking of crafting, I do have a card to share with everyone.

This card was created using an air brushed image from Wee Stamps that I purchased a while back and added a bit of Frosted Lace Stickles to the wings and I darkened the hair just a little using my Pro Markers.

The designer paper is My Minds Eye and the card-stock is Recollections brand.  The image is layered on a Spellbinders die cut and cheese-cloth from JoAnne's.

I finished the card by surrounding it with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and some pearls from my stash.

The inside uses the same designer paper and has a space for a personal message. The finished card size is approximately 5.5 x 5.5.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Scrappers Delight - Anything Goes (1/30)
Kraftin Kimmie - Anything Goes (1/21)
Crafty Friends - #23 Anything Goes (1/29)
Sweet Stampin - Things with Wings (1/20)
AllSorts Challenge - Girly & Sparkly (1/20)
Gem of a Challenge - Female Birthday

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back real soon to announce the commenting winner from my previous post so if you haven't read the post and commented..do so for a chance to go shopping.

Until next time.....
