Blog Candy Giveaway - Click Here

WOW!!  I feel like I have been absent for a really long time and it really hasn't been that long. This past weekend was a blast with launching parties and beginner parties going on back to back and everywhere.  I think I have eaten more food in one weekend then I have in the last 90 days and it was fun!

I'm just going to share a few photos of a Mini Album with matching Card I created for a co-worker with a last moment's notice.  I think it turned out okay although I didn't have enough time to really coordinate the inside and add all the embellishments I would have liked. I had to use what I had on hand and not be real concerned about using different techniques and all.

Oh well let me go ahead and share already and give you a chance to leave your comments.

I think I'll share the card first because I actually do like the look and feel of it.

The embossing on the paper is very elegant and is more of an eggshell white or wicker white.  I'm not real sure what the manufacturer called it.

I simply added pearls, velvet ribbon with lace, and flowers from Wild Orchids to finish the front.

The inside has designer paper with no greeting so that there would be lots of room for other co-workers to write their congratulations message.

Oh did I mention this was for a young co-worker that is getting married within a week.

Next is the last minute mini album and since I didn't have actual wedding paper I used three words that I truly believe that if incorporated in every marriage there would be less divorces in the world.

Again I used the same embellishments to match the card and to keep it simple so that the beauty of the embossed paper would not get lost.  The paper actually has a smooth and soft feel to it which promotes the feel of a wedding.

Okay that's all I have for tonight.  Feel free to leave your comments below and I'll be back next week to announce the winners of Group A and Group B of my blog candy/giveaway.

Gift Set

I decided for this post to start out with something a bit different...no nothing new but something I hadn't did in a while and that is create a gift set which simply means I will create a card with a matching gift bag, or matching box, or maybe a matching tag. This time I am using a gift bag and matching envelope to go along with my card.

The designer paper is from the Graphic 45 "Gilded Lily" collection.  I wasn't able to get a complete set of this paper but I did manage to get a few pages that I thought were delightful.

So here is what I created and want to share with everyone, and you know what...I am going to give away Group B of my giveaway to one lucky person that leaves a comment on this post. So you don't need to enter a name or anything, just tell me what you think of my creation and you could win 3 Spellbinders dies.  WINNER will be announced on August 31st so don't forget to check back.

To find out what Group B dies are check out my giveaway post by clicking here or click the giveaway found in the right sidebar.  And if you haven't entered for Group A there's still time to do so.

Now on to my creations.  Beware there are about 6 photos in this one post.

Here you have all three pieces of the set.

Card
Matching Envelope
Matching Gift Bag

The Gift Bag is up next.

This is the front where I used a string of flat back pearls and Wild Orchid Lace to decorate the top.

The paper is "Royal Gardens" from the Gilded Lily paper collection.

My flowers are Wild Orchid flowers that I ordered from "The Rubber Buggy" which is a stateside distributor of Wild Orchid products.

I used several Spellbinders dies to create a frame for the image I fussy cut from the paper.

I continued the theme on the back using "Her Majesty" from the Gilded Lily paper collection.

The cardstock was Bazzil "Wildberry Pie" and "Vanilla Stone."

Now on to the card that I created using leftover scraps once the gift bag was completed.

I simply used the reverse side of the designer paper, added the last bit of lace and pearls and then colored up my image.

The image is from Sarah Kay and she is colored with Copic markers of course.

Here is what I hope is a close-up view of my image.  I think I used the following markers (not real sure) because I tend to clean up immediately following a project.

B91, 93, 95, R83, 85, E00, 11, 13, E53, 55, 57, YG61, 65

Here is a peek at the inside of the card.

Again I used left over scraps to keep everything coordinated.  The card size was going to be 6x6 but it had to be a 5x5 instead because of the size of my leftovers.

Well my fellow crafters, this is all I have for tonight.  Don't forget to tell me what you think for a chance at some free dies and even if you don't need the dies share your thoughts with me. I appreciate the comments.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Fantasy Stampers - #42 Lots of Layers (8/14)
Scrappers Delight - Anything Goes (08/31)

It's A Giveaway Month

Hello my crafting family.  I feel like I have been disconnected for quite some time, when in reality it has only been a few weeks. I've been busy and having fun with my youngest grand-kids and believe me they keep this ole gal popping vitamins and energy tablets just to keep up with them.  When its time to "Power Down" (new phrase for nap time) I think I need it more than I want them to take it (smiles).

Anyway I found one heck of a deal at our local craft store and I want to share with you all.  Most of you will not have a need for what I am giving away, but there may be someone that was hoping to start or build their collection and it would be great if I could help you build your collection with this giveaway.

First here's a sample list of the Spellbinders dies that I have for giveaway.  My plan is to give 3 away at a time so that means more giveaways will be coming soon. But here are the groups to start this off.

I was inspired to create this card by one I found on pinterest. As usual I start out following the design exactly going in the same direction but somehow around the middle of the creation I end up going in a whole new direction, but in crafting its okay to do that and I'm glad because I do that a lot it seems.

I want to enter this card in a couple of challenges:

Red White & Blue

Mema's Online Store - Click Here

Hello everyone, hope each of you celebrated the 4th with family and friends, or maybe you opted to celebrate with that one special someone to share the beauty of the night with firecrackers bursting in the air spilling color all around and a gentle smooth taste of wine to relax and soothe the soul. Regardless to your choice I hope it was what you anticipated, needed and wanted to celebrate your day.

To continue the celebration I have a Red, White and Blue card to share. Its a 4th of July card but I think it could work as a birthday card as well especially if your birthday happens to be on the 4th (smiles). The USA could be replaced with the individual's initial to make it a more personalized card.  Wanna see what I mean??? well just keep going.

Again I decided to use very little embellishments and basic Recollections card-stock.

The stars were cut using a Sizzix star die and a star brad to keep the layers together.

I also used some ribbon that I had in my stash to provide separation on the card and add another focal point.

The U.S.A. letters are standard letter stickers that I popped up on foam tape to create dimension.

On the inside I layered one side to follow the Red, White, and Blue theme and added a star in the corner for added focus.

This was a very simple and quick card to make and I would like to enter it in the following challenges:

My Sheri Crafts - #160 Happy 4th of July (7/10)
Less Is More - Red White Blue (7/10)
A Gem of A Challenge - Red White Blue (7/25)
Addicted to CAS - #67 Patriotic (7/25)
Crafty Friends Challenge - #9 Anything Goes (7/26)

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me. Don't forget your comments are always welcomed.

Hope you'll come back again real soon.
Sending you hugs from Texas

Butterflies

Mema's Online Store - Click Here

First of all I apologize for the delay in announcing our June Challenge winner, and I want to say thanks to everyone who decided to participate and play with us.

And for those of you that took time to leave a comment I am giving away a Saturated Canary gift certificate so be sure and check to see if you were the winner.

In the meantime feel free to browse my blog, read my stories or visit my store. I will share my projects with you and hopefully share the same inspiration I get from others with you as well.

Additionally, when I find really cool techniques or tutorials I will share them just in case you find it to be interesting as well.

For now I have a Black and White Butterfly card to share. Butterflies are the smallest most beautiful thing with wings. To think that "Nature" can turn an ugly worm into something so delicate and lovely to see.  Reminds me of the ugly duckling story I heard as a child.  I am rather proud of this card and I hope you will like it as well.

I used Bazzill card-stock to create this multi-layered card. At the top I used Martha Stewart border punches to create two decorative borders.

The ribbon was from my stash which is most likely Offray ribbon since I tend to keep a lot of that brand on hand.

I used my bow maker from Becca Feeken to tie my bow.  I'm not that good with tying bows even with a bow making tool so when one turns out pretty good I tend to smile at it.

The "Happy Birthday" is a die sentiment from Momenta Dies, and let me say that should you get these dies be careful when removing it from the die.  I had to cut this three times because they are so delicate and tiny and I kept ripping the 'y'

I used a EK Success postage punch and layered it with a square. I then punch out a few Martha Stewart butterflies and outlined the wings with my white gel pen.  I like how the white shows through the wings of the butterfly.  It has a really nice effect when you look at the card.  The card front was completed with a few Recollection pearls added here and there.

I kept the inside quite simple with just a space for a personal message.

I used the negative part of a die I used on another card to add a bit of detail here.

The border is pierced which I thought was a pretty cool touch for the inside.  I think the pierced dies were part of a set from Creative Expressions (can't remember).

The finished card is 6 x 8 and has a matching black and white envelope to match.  I will most likely add it to my store for sale.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - No Stamping #253 (07/06)
Crafty Ribbons - #122 Anything Goes With A Ribbon (07/07)
Crafting With Attitude - #5 Anything Goes

Keeping fingers crossed for a win (smiles).  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment.  I enjoy reading what you have to say.

Finally Made It Back

Current Challenge - Click Here

Whew! I didn't think I would ever get back to my craft-room but whola here I am with a couple of cards to share with my crafty friends. Yeah I know both Father's Day and most Graduations are long gone but I think its okay to share a couple of cards with you anyway so here goes.

This first card was inspired by a friend and it was my intent to give it to her to give her husband but they left before I could get it finished.  To me it kinda looks like a Dallas Cowboy Father's Day card and since my friend is married to a former Cowboy I thought it would be nice, but like I said she never got it.  This is because my three youngest grand-kids (3,5,7) had me so busy I had very little time to relax.  Not complaining though.

My second card has a prayer that I found online and just thought it was so sentimental that I decided to go ahead and make it for no one in particular. I'll add it to my store later and maybe someone will want it next year for Father's Day although it could work as a "Just Because" card as well.

Well folks that's all I have for today.  Sorry for the short post but rest is a necessity these days especially with the air being so thick and actually I can feel the pollution as I breathe it.  It is so humid and hot that this is the first year out of 8 or 9 that I have not attended the Great American Scrapbook Convention (GASC). What is the world coming to, when a person misses the GASC, it's a major event worth blogging about.

I'll be back in a week or two with a giveaway.  Over the past two or three weeks I have found some really great finds at really reasonable prices that allow me to share with my lovely followers. I have to get the list together and make sure I have packing material so I can be ready to ship when a winner is selected.

No worries I'll keep you posted via my blog.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me and if you have time leave a comment.  I do appreciate them and love reading them.

Hugs From Texas
