Beware! this post is long!

Before I share my newest creations I have to let you guys know that I was a WINNER at Cheery Lynn designs!  Yahooooo! and I will get to go shopping for a couple of new dies which I have already picked out.  I just had to share that bit of news because I don't win very often and when I do I get totally excited.

Secondly, I've noticed that there are those out there that will join your blog if you're giving away something and then leave if they don't win. Personally, I find this to be very rude and don't appreciate that behavior. It is so unfair to those that do follow and visit from time to time...not every week or day but from time to time. So to those that are only looking to win a prize please go elsewhere and don't stop here!

I would hope that you join not only for the prizes although I know they are important but because you like my work and find inspiration or can get ideas from my blog. I follow over 200 blogs and I definitely can't visit them all on a regular basis but I do stop by from time to time for inspiration or to just read the post.

I'm sorry if my saying this offends anyone but it is how I feel and if this does not apply to you then please ignore and know that I appreciate your time and thank you for your support however small it is.

Now to share two very different cards with you.  Both cards consist of images that I have had for some time but for some reason never got around to coloring. However, now that my tub of boxes aren't grabbing my attention I have wandered over to my bin where I keep printed digital images ready to be colored. I think there were 18 images in this bin needing some color to bring them to life.  Whew!! I do truly believe I am a mini hoarder or perhaps I just want to do more in my craft-room but time just isn't on my side.

I need to use some of these paper pads I have all nicely stacked up before I run out of space for new stuff (haha).  Having said all that I'll get started with what I have to share with everyone.

For my first card I used paper from Authentique called "Blissful" and standard Hobby Lobby card-stock.

The image is from Mo Manning called "Gimme B".  I used a glitter gel pen to color her pom poms but didn't do very good since the pens were almost dried out.  Phooey! The greeting is a clear Fiskar stamp and the dies are from Spellbinders.

I kept the inside clean and simple but used papers from the same collection.

Did I mention that I have a son that is a Cheerleader and Gymnastics Coach and that is why I found this image to be such a cutie.
Copics I used to color this image:
Skin: E13, 11, 01,00
Clothes/Poms: Y21, 19, 17, W8, Black
Hair: E59, 53, 49, 25

I'd like to enter this card in the following:

Lacy Sunshine Color Your World - Anything Goes (10/15)
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge #19 Anything Goes (10/15)

Yep I have another card to share with you.

I realize we haven't gotten past Halloween or Thanksgiving but this image just needed my attention and it makes for a great Winter or Christmas card.

It's another Mo Manning image but for the life of me I can't remember her name. I think it is "Urchin With Bird" but not sure.

I used Graphic45 Christmas paper collection from last year for this little cutie. I added some snowflakes that were punched and embossed using Tim Holtz's embossing glitter. Behind is tucked a bit of cheesecloth and a corner die from Marianne Designs and a paper doily cut with a Cherry Lynn die.

A few Recollection flowers, pearl stick pins and ribbon from Bo Bunny helped me complete this card.

On the inside I used a journaling tag and cut out a few border strips from the paper for the left side of the card and added space for a personal note on the right side.

The image was colored using copics:
Skin: E15, 13, 11, 00
Clothes (reds) R89, 39, 37, 35 and (browns) E99, 97, 55, 53

I'd like to enter this card in the following:

Glitter and Sparkle - Challenge #157 Anything Goes (10/09)
Crafty Hazel - Challenge #249 All Wrapped Up (10/08)
Crafting With Dragonflies - Challenge #44 Anything Goes (10/09)
Fab N Funky - #275 Anything Christmas
Crafty Hazelnut's - Christmas Challenge October (10/30)

I know this was a really long post and I thank you for hanging out until the end...so much so that I am going to select a winner from the comments on this post to receive a gift certificate from Mo Manning Digital Pencil.

Hugs from Texas
Thanks for stopping by
Lesia

First of all, congrats on your win! So sorry you have been losing followers, that is not cool! And a poor reason for them to leave. Not the type of followers you want anyway! Here's a good one for you... I had a person (on a design team with me) tell the group she was looking for followers. She had less than 20 followers and has been blogging for 6 years. I went over and followed her blog, left some love (3 times over a 2-week span), and told her I would be happy if she would visit my blog and follow me too. She never visited or left a comment. Very poor blogging etiquette, I thought! So I unfollowed her!

Your cards are both super cute! I especially love the colours in the second one, and all the added details and cheesecloth - very pretty! Thank you for your kind giveaway!

Lesia, I love every word you posted on your blog. I found out early that because I wasn't giving away anything, some would join and didn't come back. Those who show their continued support are always there. Beautiful cards and yes I visit often for the inspiration and not necessarily the prizes. tfs

I don't always visit but I didn't join and then leave either. I love the images you use and the cards you designed as a result. I especially like how you've designed the insides.

I know, I know I don't stop by often...but when I do,I find an idea to steal! Lol! I need to start finishing the inside of my cards like that!

Hi Lesia, I have been remiss for not coming by and visiting, however I have been busy teaching and I am getting ready to go to Tenn to teach more classes. But enough about me!! Your cards are so sweet and I love the winter the best. However that cheerleader one is adorable as well. Your coloring is superb, as always. Thanks for the giveaway and I will be back to visit more often I promise!!

Congrats on your win Lesia. I agree that some people do follow you just to get a prize and then leave. But - I like to believe that the majority aren't like that. Gorgeous cards both of them! Love your colors and your fabulous DP. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks so much for joining our Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge. We hope to see you again in the next challenge. Good luck in the challenge. Hugs, Gloria DT

Oh Lesia it must to so disheartening to see the 'prize grabbers' come and then go :-(. Congratulations on your win, and I am looking forward to seeing some of your work using them. Love these two sweet cards!!

I think all of us have suffered this at one time or another Lesia. It's sad that certain peeps have such awful manners but to me it's their loss and not mine. I really don't want fly by nights. I can't visit as often as I'd like but thankfully most of my followers and people I follow are aware that I have health issues so they know I'll be around eventually lol!
Congrats on your win hun and focus on that - those peeps know who they are and what and why they do it. I only just got my numbers up and I know that some will leave at some point. It's nice to have followers but it's better to have friends who follow, inspire and love you for you. Big hugs hun Karen xx

Hi what fab cards love how you continue the papers to the inside. Awesome colouring. Wow I bet your do proud of your son. Congrats on your win. I totally understand where you are coming from re candy grabbers. I too follow a similar number of blogs and often visit but don't always have the time to leave a comment. I like to see the number of visits to my blog as much as the comments but do appreciate the ones that leave a few words but understand not everyone can

Hello Lesia!
Congrats on your win! I saw your name there and made me happy! I always keep an eye on your blog and read about your creative ideas, how to make them, your paper choices and you know I love your creations. You were the first one when I followed you since I started my blog!I love all your boxes creations:) But don't always have the time to leave a comment.
Both of your creations are fabulous, beautiful coloring and love the inside too! Great job done!
Lots of Hugs!

I know exactly what you mean. And I agree with you. It's really not nice if someone just signs as a follower for the candy and then unfollows when the candy is over. It makes me sad too. I hope this is not (will not be) to happening to you often. Personally I think your creations are great and I like to have a look at them, even if I don't leave a comment on every post.

Congrats on your win. CL has some very beautiful dies and I can't wait to see what you'll make with them! :)

I didn't know that your son is a cheerleader and gymnastics coach. That sure explains why you like that Mo Manning image so much. But then again, aren't all of her images just too cute? ;) I love both of the cards you made with them. They are gorgeous!

Have a great day!
Hugs! xx
